The standard day is the point and the shore at sunrise, Vattakottai fort up the coast, then inland to the Thanumalayan temple at Suchindram and the wooden palace at Padmanabhapuram. In practice it is a full day, because the temples have their own hours, the palace closes earlier than people expect, and the ferry to the Vivekananda Rock has a queue that is longer in season than out of it.
